Privacy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Short version: no cookies, no tracking of you as a person. I count visits anonymously, and if you fill in a form or email me, I use your details to reply and nothing else.
Who I am
This website is run by Ben Dowse, trading as bd people, a freelance recruiter based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KvK 91621895). You can reach me at ben@bdpeople.nl.
What this site collects
- No cookies, no tracking pixels. I don't track who you are.
- Anonymous visit counts. I use Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, no cookies) to count page views and which links get clicked. It doesn't store personal data or identify you.
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, their servers briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page and keep it secure.
- Fonts. The typefaces load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
If you use a form
The forms ask for your email address and, for the job ad review, a link to your job ad. The optional questions on the thanks page ask about the role and timing. It's handled by Netlify Forms, which stores the submission and notifies me by email. I use it to send you what you asked for and follow up about working together, nothing else. I delete form submissions from Netlify once I've replied, and never add you to a mailing list.
If you email or WhatsApp me
When you contact me by email or WhatsApp, I receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to share. I use it only to reply and, if we work together, to run that work. I keep it for as long as we're in touch or as long as Dutch law requires (for example, 7 years for invoices). I never sell it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll sort it within a month. If you're not happy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
